Hold your elected MP's responsible, not IBM

The plan to swap out the old pay system was started way back in 2009 when the Conservative gov't decided to award IBM the contract to replace the old pay system.
The idea was to down size from over 2400 advisors that worked with the old system spread all across the country. With the new plan, the positions would be reduced to 550 advisors located at one location in New Brunswick.
In 2014, under the Conservative gov''t again, the responsibility for design, training and execution is taken out of IBM's hands and put into the government''s hands. The idea behind this was to have IBM "train the trainer" instead of following IBM's recommendations.
The next doozy was ignoring both IBM's and internal government workers recommendations to hold up further deployment of the new system, but was ignored by the old Conservative and new Liberal gov't.
This is what happens when we cut corners to save money, fail to heed knowledgeable advice from more than one party, and when we fail to hold our elected MP's responsible for decisions and mistakes that our elected gov't make. You can blame IBM, Harper, or Trudeau, but the blame ultimately falls on those that are elected to represent Canadians best interest, which does trickles down to those that cast the ballots.
It would have been more cost effective and better planned out if the whole project was done internally, which would have created more permanent jobs, better managed, and make the whole process more accountable to the parties involved.
