You know what guys, I think that with the mills and such, well there is a special place in h*ll for them folks. But honestly believe that 95% of folks doing breeding are doing so in the correct manner. With winter again here, I`ll see if I can quickly relay the story of our latest addition & where I think the majority of the probablem lies. In spring of 2018 we started noticing a little cat around our neighborhood and in the yard. He could not be aproached and was super scared of people, so someone had not been good to him. When winter came (18/19) I think everyone called animal control in regards to this little cat being feral or stray and didn`t want to see him perish. He had other plans, and elluded the coppers..... so I set out food and water 3 times a day and fashioned a shelter out of hey , tarp, etc. . Well he made it through that winter, but you could not get within 5 ft of him as he`d bolt. He was around all through summer 2019, and by the time winter came we had an insulated & heated little house built. And yeah he made it through winter again, his second. Animal control used to drive up and down the street and back lane looking, but he never got busted. By the summer of 2020, through the beckoning of one of our other cats and food, he would let me get closer. & would come up to the open window on our deck all summer and have conversations with our "talking" cat. In late Oct of 2020 , he finally decided to take a chance on us and came in and never has gone outside again since. I take our cats out on leashes in the summer, but he has no want to go. He is fixed, chipped, tattoed, and had all his shots. We just had his first year of being a house cat pass, he has never scratched a piece of furniture, never not used one of the cat boxes. Now I see so many others outside, I just can`t save them all. It took 2 years to build enough trust and I don`t expect anybody else to take my path. But can folks just care for and have the animals they have taken responcibility for fixed ? I mean what kind of a person lets a cat out or puts a dog on a chain when it -30 or40 ? If your animal bolts outside, it can happen, why aren`t you out there getting it back in instead of saying "he`ll come back" It makes me very angry, and with some folks I`m pretty sure untill they have some kind of reprecussion they`ll just keep abusing animals and their rights to possess said animals. Folks that can`t take care of themselves, should not have the right to try to take care of pet. It always ends bad. Irreponsible pet owners in my opinion are way more of an issue than the breeders. At least if you are paying up for a puppy or kitten, chances are allot higher if you have $1000 invested you will at least hopefully give a crap. Just so ya`ll know, I`m about $600 deep in our "AlleyCat", but he`s paying me back every day when I get to give him a belly rub. And maybe he`ll even let me put a collar on him for more than 2 seconds one day.....................
