I think that is abuse . thoughts  
The people that use them should wear it around their necks and see how it feels . collar is not even being used for barking used if puppy may jump on you or bite etc what puppies do .  
puppy just needs obedience training .

If your dog barks a lot then hire a dog trainer to learn how to teach your dog to be quiet. Learn about the different barks and what they mean. Your dog barks because you didn’t train it properly. Take responsibility for your own actions instead of punishing the dog.  
 
Too many dog owners expect their dog to just do the right thing without proper training. It is the dog owner’s responsibility to learn how to work with their dog and train the dog on acceptable behaviour

Dogs bark, cows bellow, cockerels crow.  
Get over it and leave them be!  
People talk too much as well

Not all collars zap them and not all collars that do are used on that setting. Many have a sound option that you press very similar idea to what you would use a clicker for that can be found in many obedience classes.  
 
Also almost all shock collars have a vibration option that doesn't harm them in any way but is a distraction.

People are always looking for a quick fix to their problems instead of looking at how they may have contributed to the problem and taking responsibility for something they may have caused.  
 
Yes dogs bark. That is a normal behaviour. It is one way they communicate. However there are dogs that bark excessively and this excessive barking becomes a reward for the dog in many cases. The owner of this dog could take responsibility to work with the dog instead of throwing a de-barking collar on them. This creates a positive interaction between owner and dog. You can teach the dog a quiet command, get the dog exposed to lots of stimulation especially at an early age so they don’t feel the need to bark.  
 
There are several good dog trainers in the area who can help improve on your relationship with your dog. Aversive tools like these collars should be a last resort and only used in extreme situations with the supervision of an experienced dog trainer not an untrained owner

I once had a fairly amusing argument with a close friend of mine about my hatred of dogs. I always thought they were loud and obnoxious in compared to the normally fairly quiet (though at times destructive) cats. He informed me that most dogs are like this due to owners not training them otherwise.  
 
Which made perfect sense. People are generally the source of many of their own issues, knowingly or not.

People should stop humanizing animals and expecting them to behave like we expect. Training is one thing but it often goes too far.

You said “if your dog barks a lot then hire a good dog trainer”. The problem with that is they are EXPENSIVE!!! Online tutorials are NOT the same. Having a personal trainer will take time because you’re actually training the human of their mistakes and then how to correctly train and connect with your dog! That costs a lot of money that most people today can’t afford! Hence: why they take the “easy route” and buy shock collars!!

Who said anything about: not providing love and care for your dog(s)? Not providing annual vetting for your dog(s). Not providing early socialization for your dog(s)? Or even taking them to group obedience training (pre-pandemic). What I DID say was personal dog trainers are expensive! Would I love to hire one? You bet! However, just because I can’t afford one doesn’t mean I don’t provide the necessary costs, love and attention my dog(s) should have! You can’t compare dogs to humans! Most human things are paid by health care, pet care is privately owed and we pay “out of pocket”. A lot of pet insurance doesn’t cover half the costs!
