Ticks and dogs

I need help! Does anyone know of a good remedy or product to keep ticks off dogs? We live on a farm and have 2 border collie/ blue heeler dogs, and nothing we have tried really seemed to work. I read on the net that garlic chews are supposed to work, but has anyone seen them anywhere? Thanks
