People Giving away pets

Is it not absurd to CONSTANTLY see people giving away their pets on here? I always see pets of all ages being offered... or 'traded' for something different.
Do people not put enough thought into the cost and work required to have a pet? Perhaps people should consider this. I understand allergies etc.. but lots of times it is because the animal is 'high energy' translation.. I don't make time for them...
Just a thought...The girl selling the St Bernards now makes the buyer sign an agreement to spay/neuter them and then provides a 100 refund.. perhaps more people should be thinking like her..
