the first is we all know, and probably agree, that life has a way of changing on us unexpectedly. I don't think anyone has an issue with a person or family who has to rehome a dog because they can no longer take care of it.  
 
For me, it is the people who get the pet for the puppy cuteness overload with no thought that within a few months that puppy will be full grown and needs training and time. People need to think about their decisions before they act. I've watched the postings for dogs and notice a lot of these are dogs who are one and a half years old or younger. That always makes me cringe, wondering if this is another example of human stupidity.  
 
While some people feel animals are just that...animals and as humans we own them and have a right to do what we want when them, I disagree. These are living breathing creatures who depend on us for their life. They deserve a stable, loving life as much as we do.  
 
What I wonder is what happens to those dogs who people attempt to rehome and can't. Do they keep the dog? Do they dump the dog on the side of the road or on the doorstep of the Humane society? Or is the dog disposed of as people used to do in past times.

So you don't want people jumping down your throat but it was okay for you to do the exact same thing to the lady in the classifieds?!? You my dear are a hypocrite at it's finest! Please listen to a previous poster and start thinking before you get yourself in unneeded drama.

You all need to back off. Kayla made a simple mistake and she is owning up to it. I for one applaud her for contacting lady and apologizing.

Who said anything about being perfect? Relax. If you are going to question why someone does something at least expect to be questioned yourself.  
 
I can't speak for others but I wouldn't have been in this situation to begin with. However, I do apologize when needed and it's great that she did too but don't get bent out of shape when people do to you what you did to others

On this forum to be bashed and/or ridiculed about what they decide to do with pets that need a better home. I don't understand why people seem to make everything their business when it's really not. They are choosing to find a better place for the pet they thought they could take care of. Nothing wrong with that. It is the repeat offenders that may need a talking too but until then, just butt out.

What would you like me to apologize for? She posted on a forum and I gave my opinion. It's okay if you don't agree with it.  
 
I called her a hypocrite (which her behaviour is), that is hardly coming down on someone. I'm not dishing anything out but giving my take on it. Just like Kayla did. If you want to dish it out to me though that is fine. However, I fail to see why you have such an issue with my post.  
 

It is the careless use of 'hypocrite' that I take offense to. Too often on eBrandon people feel they can bash another ebrandoner and simply walk away.  
 
To call someone a hypocrite, IMO is the ultimate insult.

a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.  
 
 
2. a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, especially one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.  
 
Kayla is not pretending anything. She is a concerned citizen who thought she saw a bad situation and she reacted. She realized she made a mistake and is owning up to it.  
 
She is not nor was she ever a hypocrite. That is what Dream should be apologizing for.

The only reason Kayla started this thread was to shame and ridicule people who's situations she knows nothing about. Her behaviour was wrong, and we all have every right to point that out. The ONLY reason she apologized is because the person she was harassing took the time to explain her situation, which she shouldn't have had to do. Had this person not done that, Kayla would still be bashing her based on ASSumptions. She absolutely deserves to be taken to task for her behaviour. Nobody here is pretending to be perfect, just pointing out that harassing random people via email is wrong and could get her in a lot of trouble.  
 
Out opinions of Kayla's actions are based on her actual actions. Her opinion of people who rehome animals is based on assumptions, and wrong ones at that. I don't feel the least bit bad for being hard on her, she needs to understand she has no right to do that.

(1) A person who engages in the same behaviors he condemns others for.  
 
(2) A person who professes certain ideals, but fails to live up to them.  
 
(3) A person who holds other people to higher standards than he holds himself.  
 
These definitions are the reason I called her a hypocrite. We are all different and will take offense to different things but I could think of a 100 other names that would offend me more than someone calling out my behaviour for what it is.  
 
I agree with you though that people feel they can bash others and than walk away. Essentially, that is exactly what Kayla did when she emailed that lady however. You seem to think that because she apologized, all is well. I however, do not think that apologies fix everything. Far too often people think they can do/say what they want and as long as they apologize for it after, it makes it all better. People need to consider what they are saying before saying it.

She made a mistake, she apologized. Hopefully she will learn from this 'mistake' and not do this again. There was no need for more than half of the posts, after her apology, to continue to bash her.

but I think it is you that missed the point. I called her a hypocrite for jumping down the ladies throat but than asking others to not jump down hers. That is all.

Sorry but it's not a few people. This world is filled with idiots who treat animals like property or garbage. You are living in a fantasy world.
