Does anyone know how much it is to get a dog microchipped here in Brandon? Do they have to be a certain age before they get it?

I don't know how much it costs, but we got our dog when he was 9 weeks old, and he already had his microchip put in.

Has it migrated at all? I'm just worried if I get it before he's done growing that it'll have a higher chance of migrating somewhere it shouldn't be.

Quite honestly, I have no idea. The vet has never said anything that it has moved to a bad location. It was put in close to his neck, and to the best of my knowledge it is still there. If it has moved, it is not a significant amount. It's not something you can feel, or at least I can't.

You could phone a local vet & ask. I always wonder as well if the chip would migrate.

I already called and bugged them once today haha. But I forgot to ask about a chip. I know they can migrate, and I just thought getting it done early might make the chances higher, but I can't find anything about that online (but I think it makes sense..) it just says as long as there over 1 pound then there fine. I'm going to ask at the 12 week appointment, just wanted to have some time to weigh pros and cons before hand.

The microchip should stay in place as your puppy grows. Placement should be between the shoulder blades, under the skin. I rarely see young dogs with migrated chips & a lot of breeders will do them at an early age. Eventually, with a lot of time, the microchip may move down the shoulder (always exceptions to the general rule though).  
 
Prices vary because microchips vary. I've implanted chips at $60 each, but after there are no additional registration fees for the owner & I've also done $30 chips-cheaper to purchase but the client has to pay to register the chip in their name.

I was thinking in the $50 range. So I wasn't to far off but those were off American sites and I didn't know if it was different or not.
