Just a warning to pet owners in case this was not an isolated incident. Fortunately our cat is fine, after a trip to the vet. I have made a police report just in case as well. My husband and I are dumbfounded as our cat is always on a leash/lead when outside. Hopefully this was just a stupid mistake and not on purpose <:img src=:images/icon_frown.gif>: This was on the north hill. Edited by MrsZ2015, 2016-06-07 18:43:15 " |

Someone shot at your cat while your cat was tied up in your yard? Is your yard wide open or would someone have to enter your property to do this? I can see this happening in this day and age if you let your cat out to roam say at night (our neighbours do this) or if it got loose and wandered but for someone to shoot INTO your yard seems pretty desperate and harsh if it was intentional. We have a maybe 4 foot high chain link fence that is parallel to back lane: so one would have a clear view into our backyard. The cat lead can maybe reach a third of the way down into our yard.
When we moved to our house 2 years ago he was able to run loose. However, after a complaint and visit from bylaw we immediately began to tie him up whenever he went outside. He, nor our other cat, are ever out with out thri haltets and leash on. He loves being outside and will stay out until dusk (which is when we believe the happened). And not to worry: fresh water and shelter are provided when our animals are outside. We also ensure to bring them in if no one is home.
