Has anyone heard if kennel cough is going around right now?? Have a dog doing some coughing ... realize it could also be something else but was wondering if kennel cough is going around. Will call vet tomorrow anyways.

Does your dog go to the dog parks or kennel? Is your dog vaccinated for kennel cough? Could something be caught in its throat by chance? They say not to do this but if it were me I'd be googling his symptoms lol hope he's ok!

I have googled symptoms...it could be a number of things and I am definitely calling the vet tomorrow but was wondering if kennel cough was going around. He is vaccinated but he has had a mild case before anyways. He doesn't do dog parks but was in for grooming last Monday.

I noticed this in my dog too (also vaccinated) plus my dog recently picked up an eye infection too. Quick trip to the vet and was given antibiotics/steroids for the pooch. Hope it turns out to be nothing serious for your pooch at the vet and hope your dog recovers quickly.

It was in the news about 6 months back that it's making the rounds in Winnipeg, so it's not surprising if it's here too.

The vaccine for kennel cough is notoriously of low effectiveness, especially if you do as most do and go a full year in between vaccinations. So don't jump all over the owner assuming they haven't vaccinated!

My dog got it once from another dog in the neighborhood. You could hear the other dog coughing. I think its fairly contagious.
