Hello I am hoping to go on a trip with the fiance and myself. We were thinking of driving to florida then take either a cruise/ferrie or a plane to the Bahamas. I'm thinking nassau but I would like to know what people thought of what islands are best, hotels, maybe even all inclusive. Also what plane/boat to take? Even if you have and info on florida aswell would be appreciated. I'm thinking stay in either miami or fort Lauderdale for 3 or 4 days then go to Bahamas for up to a weekish then back to florida for maybe 2 days or so before we head back. If you have any info on anything please let me know we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Wow I didnt know that I wasnt planning on going until fall/ winter time but I'm sure it'll still be rough that sucks but thanks very much I really appreciate it.

It's just an advisory, doesn't mean you shouldn't go. The amount of executions in Mexico has more then doubled this year compared to last year and there is no advisory. 750+ people have been killed there so far this year. Multiple people are killed almost every day.  
 
Take it as a caution. If you go out looking for trouble you'll likely find it anywhere you go. Nothing good usually happens at 2am in a back alley. Stick to the tourist areas, don't get too drunk and be aware of your surroundings and you will be fine.

Yes it is just an advisory and I was simply just giving the Original poster some reading material to help make their decision.  
 
As for sticking to the tourist areas in Bahamas that tends to be the areas of a majority of issues at the moment.

Sorry Muppet was not implying you were saying not to go... Just simply that it was a caution/advisory.  
 
Petty crime such as pickpocketing, purse snatching etc. happen in the touristy areas but the more violent crimes tend to happen in places that a tourist likely wouldn't or shouldn't find themselves in. I've traveled there many times over the years and never had a problem. I've felt a lot more unsafe in other countries then the Bahamas.  
 
Like I said if you are not, for a lack of a better term "being dumb" you likely won't be a victim of anything but stuff happens and sometimes no matter how vigilant we are, it can happen.

I read up on it more last night and it is just a caution however ya they do mention tourist areas and even during the day. But like I said it wouldn't be until fall/winter if we do go. And yes I dont drink and the fiance will have a few but not many, and we won't travel anywhere we shouldn't. So what is the best islands I was thinking nassau but that just seems like the main one is there any better/proffered? And any other advice about there or florida would be appreciated thanks!!

Well we like Cat Island but it's likely the least touristy, we dive so that is why we go there but don't let that stop you from checking it out. You might also want to check out the Abacos it's touristy and you might even see swimming pigs (no I'm not kidding). Deep Water Cay if your looking for more romance. Bimimi is good. There are so many I would do some research yourself and read reviews and see what you like best. Personally I'd skip Nassau if I were you.
