What’s the Best route to Edmonton?  
Which highways do I take?  
Has anyone travelled recently ...are there any road closures or construction  
I’m hoping to do the drive in 11 hours..?doable?

i make the trip a few times a year  
i take #1 to Regina, 11 to Saskatoon, then 16 to Edmonton. its 4 lane all of the way except for maybe a mile or 2 through Chamberlain and the exits at North Battleford

I take the same route. Double lane from Regina to Saskatoon, whereas, Highway #16 is not.

take right turn just past Balgonie and you come out on Ring Road about a mile from #11 exit. Miss the Regina construction

take 10 North to 16 and straight into edmonton.

I do the same as the previous poster . North on 10 then straight into Edmonton on 16.

Yes, doing it is possible in 11 (or so) hours. I've done it. Just stop for gas and eat while driving. Was a great trip just watch for RCMP, no speeding...lol

I have done this drive almost yearly. Taking 16 is longer as you cannot drive as fast. To Regina/Saskatoon/Edmonton you can set your cruise at 120 and go. Taking 16 is single lane and max 110. That extra 10km/hr saves you an extra hour of travel time when going that distance. I think it takes us 10.5-11 hrs depending how much we need to stop for pee breaks.

1142km Brandon -> Regina -> Saskatoon -> Edmonton  
1138km Brandon -> Yorkton -> Saskatoon -> Edmonton  
 
Save yourself 600km of 2 lane traffic and just take the #1 to Regina, smooth sailing.

Route folks... Did it last week.. and yes turn off to north just past Balgonie to "save" 20 minutes. Cheap gas at Lloydminster at Fasgas on right as you enter Lloyd.

That station has been independent for over a year now (Converting to Esso), and they are always 2 cents or more HIGHER than most other stations in Lloyd. Since the NDP killed Alberta, gas prices in Lloydminster are higher than most of Saskatchewan because they ditched the equalization break bwtween SK and AB service station pricing, therefore they can now charge SK pricing on the AB side and make more.  
 
Fill up in Brandon  
Top up in Moosomin at Fas Gas or Shell and pee (save 3 cents from MB pricing)  
Fill up in Regina/Balgonie (Flying J is a similar price to all of Regina if you want to bypass and avoid construction. Regina Cabs by the stadium is 8 to 10 cents less than anyone)  
Fill in Saskatoon at Costco, Superstore/YIG, or Gas Plus (your last cheap stop for fuel, all accessible to Hwy 16)  
IF YOU NEED, fill up in Vegreville (usually 5 cents or so less than Lloyd or Edmonton)  
Destination: Edmonton.
