The other has to be the merging. It just grinds my gears when people stop at a yield sign that is located at the start of a merge lane. Also, people who won't let others merge, like at 18th and Pacific northbound. It's called "courtesy". Try it sometime.

You are still legally required to use your signal even when the only option is to turn left/right. You have to signal every directional change including turning right/left, lane changes, merging or any other form of direction change from the current path you are driving. " |

If you are in an exit lane, for example, like turning onto Kirkcaldy from northbound 18th Street, you are not making a change from your current path. You are following the only route available. Doing anything else would involve running into a boulevard, divider or sign post.
I would love to get a ticket for not using my turn signal in a case like that.
My beef, though, was about the people who will change lanes into that exit lane without signalling and THEN turning on the indicator to tell me that yes, they are going to follow the only path available to them and will not be running straight into a light post or cutting back into the straight-through lane.
