Canadian Tire is now hiring full and part time Garden Centre Sales Staff for the spring/summer season. Start and end date of the term will vary based on weather and the successful candidate (approximately end of April to end of August)
The Garden Centre Sales Staff work in a fast-paced environment involving constant interaction with customers to deliver friendly and courteous service while providing knowledge on lawn and garden products. This role also includes garden centre maintenance, stocking shelves, merchandising, customer carry outs, and general housekeeping.
Duties include:
? Ensures basic retail tasks are maintained and executed efficiently (stocking shelves, facing product, ensuring signage is correct, etc.)
? Assisting customers with carry outs and reconciling carry out purchases
? Maintains and rotates annuals, perennials and nursery stock to ensure they look fresh and appealing. Ensures plants are watered regularly
? Keeping the garden centre neat and tidy
Job Requirements:
? Must be available for a share of scheduled evening and weekend shifts
? Must wear CSA approved or steel toed shoes
? Must be able to lift at least 25lbs. This is a basic requirement, however, there are many other products that are heavier and require repetitive lifting onto carts or into a customers? vehicle.
? Forklift experience is an asset.
Desired:
? Experience in a garden centre customer service role
? Good working knowledge of nursery stock and lawn/garden products
