About the Role
Keller Developments is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our growing team. This role focuses on job costing, project reporting, and financial analysis across our construction and development projects.
Working closely with accounting, project management, and operations teams, the Cost Accountant will support accurate cost tracking, budgeting, and financial performance. This position is ideal for a recent graduate who is strong with numbers, highly organized, and eager to build a career in construction finance.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business, or a related field
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis
- Foundational accounting knowledge (education, co-op, or internship experience)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage large volumes of data and work with numbers comfortably
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Willingness to learn construction accounting and job costing
Assets:
- Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software
- Exposure to construction trades, real estate, or project-based accounting
- Interest in pursuing CPA or further accounting education
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with job cost tracking, reporting, and analysis
- Review project costs to ensure accurate coding of expenses
- Prepare and maintain project cost reports
- Support budget-to-actual analysis for construction projects
- Assist with accounts payable review and cost coding
- Reconcile project-related accounts and supporting schedules
- Work with project managers to investigate cost variances
- Help improve reporting tools, spreadsheets, and accounting processes
- Support month-end reporting and other accounting duties required
